Australian artist Trevor Purvis's The Source, an expressive view of the Noosa River in Cooloola National Park, full of rich Australian colour, printed on our soft, lightweight viscose modal scarf, easy to wear all year round.

The story behind the artwork

Noosa River on Cooloola. This canvas is 120 x 102cm painted in acrylics and oils. It is inspired by an expedition into the Cooloola National Park on the Noosa North Shore. The painting depicts the joy of discovery combined with my love of Australian colour and movement in a painting.

About the artist

Trevor is an award-winning artist who believes that the Australian countryside is a never ending source of creative inspiration. He travels the enormous extremes of deserts and beaches searching for those moments of wonderment. The subtle variations of colour and topography are always very different to anywhere else in the world and well worth the observation and exploration. He now paints full time at his Maluti studio in Cooroy surrounded by the verdant Noosa Hinterland in Queensland.

London-based artist Kociara's Jardin d’Orange, a playful botanical scene of colourful plants, fruit and birds, printed on our soft, lightweight viscose modal scarf, easy to wear all year round.

The story behind the artwork

While designing for the challenge I imagined myself being a Victorian world traveller who seeks to explore and record the wonderful and previously unseen flora and fauna encountered. The cheerful and animated scene playfully juxtaposes colourful plants and birds intermingling with nature in their daily pursuits. The botanist captures the lively surroundings, the birds’ wings caught in the movement, the glimmers of light reflecting in the plants.

About the artist

Kociara is a pseudonym of a London based textile and graphic designer, Marta Rusin. Kociara’s design style is pretty eclectic – the designs range from complex, conversational prints to simpler, geometrical and abstract designs. The patterns have often been described as ‘elegant’ and many can be seen as influenced by art deco style.

The story behind the artwork

My artwork reminded me of different textural celestial patterns combined together in a collage. Flowing waves and sharp geometric shapes that spread across the surface, creating a sense of movement and structure. The colour palette is rich with deep blues and vibrant yellows, blending like light and shadow in motion. Across the piece, small golden, textured star patterns are scattered, adding a shimmering effect that catches the eye.

About the artist

I’m a graphic designer and architect. My combined studies of art, architecture, and history have motivated me to travel the world in search of inspiration. I describe myself as a passionate treasure hunter, constantly digging through the visual spectrum for my next great find. I finished my Bachelor Degree in Architecture and Urban Planning in Bucharest and I’m currently living in Birmingham, UK.
