Inspired by visiting birds to my property in the hills of Perth W.A. The bird life is abundant with many visits from pink and grey Galahs, red tail and white galahs, magpies, Willie Wagtails and many more. Artwork is a mixed media exploration of birds and the beautiful flowers and plants that surround me.

Hydrangeas are an extraordinary flower, endlessly layered and full of quiet drama. I love painting them, returning again and again to their shifting colours and generous forms. This artwork was created as a commission for a client who shares my love for hydrangeas, making it a collaboration rooted in appreciation and beauty.

About the artist

After growing up in Broken Hill and living in Adelaide and Sydney, I travelled to Europe, fell in love with Italy and made Florence the base for my textile-design business. The Blues and Roots Music Festival in Byron Bay is an annual event that inspired the artist to paint a visual expression of the atmosphere of the festival. About the artist

Jodi Stiles is an artist and curator based in Sydney. As a contemporary abstract painter she has exhibited in a number of galleries in the Northern Rivers while living in Byron Bay for ten years. Her abstract works celebrate colour and composition which are gestural and expressive. In addition to painting, she has developed conceptual work in gold leaf. Her works have been chosen for private collections in Australia and internationally.

I learnt to surf at Bondi 50 years ago and still love catching waves there. It’s not the best surf beach, but it’s the best city beach in the world. Bondi’s sand is the perfect colour, soft and fine. It faces south, offering unique sunrises and sunsets and shelter from the dominant summer nor’easter. It’s also home to interesting, and some say beautiful, people. The beach is undoubtedly beautiful.

Lizzie Alsop is a full time contemporary artist who works from her home studio on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. She has been a creative all her life and launched into her art full time after a move to the coast fifteen years ago. Her artwork is described as a joyful and colourful mix of abstract and realism.
