Australian artist Jessica Ramsay's Nas in a Vase, a moody still life of hibiscus and Australian native flowers in an antique shell vase, printed on a cosy, beautifully soft Australian merino wool scarf.
The story behind the artwork
This painting was inspired by the flora around the National art school. Featuring an antique shell vase I sought to capture the essence of my surrounding work environment and the bright colours of the hibiscus and Australian native flowers creating a stark contrast between light dark, muted and vibrant colours .
