Australian artist Jodi Stiles's Blues and Roots, the colour and energy of Byron Bay's Blues and Roots festival in electric blues, comes to life on a flowing silk long kimono that moves beautifully with you.
The story behind the artwork
The Blues and Roots Music Festival in Byron Bay is an annual event that inspired the artist to paint a visual expression of the atmosphere of the festival. Sounds are represented as expressive marks that combine with layers of paint that lyrically dance across the canvas. The alternative coastal town attracts artists and musicians alike to create a unique carnivalesque culture.
