The story behind the artwork
In this painting I wanted to highlight the soft stillness of where the ocean meets the coastline early in the morning. Gentle light drifts across the water, creating a sense of calm, reflection, and quiet connection to nature’s rhythm.
About the artist
Lizzie Alsop is a full time contemporary artist who works from her home studio on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. She has been a creative all her life and launched into her art full time after a move to the coast fifteen years ago. Her artwork is described as a joyful and colourful mix of abstract and realism. Lizzie loves to create and express the wonder of her natural environment with abstract layers of geometric shapes and botanicals.
