Australian artist Analise Hughes's Inner Resolve, an expressive floral painting exploring fragility and strength, comes to life on a flowing silk kimono that moves beautifully with you.
The story behind the artwork
This work explores the quiet tension between fragility and resilience through the form of the flower. While traditionally associated with beauty, softness, and femininity, the flower here becomes a site of strength and endurance. Subtle shifts in colour, texture, and gesture suggest both growth and vulnerability, inviting the viewer to slow down and look closely. The painting reflects on cycles of blooming and decay, and on the emotional labour often hidden beneath outward beauty. In this way, the flower functions not as decoration, but as a metaphor for survival, persistence, and inner resolve.
